Roller Blinds Gold Coast
HIGH QUALITY GOLD COAST ROLLER BLINDS
A popular interior blind for Scorpio is the Roller Blind, otherwise known as a Holland Blind. They are stylish, practical, low maintenance, affordable and come with a range of options that can take it from a basic blind for a rental property to a feature in a high-end luxe apartment or office space.
With a variety of sheer or blockout fabrics, textures and colours to suit any room, Roller Blinds are an elegant yet subtle window treatment. Ideal for main living areas, bedrooms, kitchens and bathrooms, you’ll often find a whole home displaying roller blinds as the main window covering with different fabrics, pelmets or control options to highlight main living areas.

Roller Blind Fabric Options
Fire-retardant and low-allergenic Blind Fabrics
We only use high quality fabrics, so all our roller blinds are fire-retardant and low-allergenic. They also include child safety devices to protect your little ones from the cord mechanisms.
- Blockout Blinds – Manage sunlight, reduce heat build-up in your room and to provide privacy in bedroom and bathroom areas.
- Light Filtering Blinds – Translucent or light-filtering Roller Blind fabrics are less commonly used in Australia, but can be ideal for living rooms and entertaining areas that require natural light and higher levels of privacy than a sunscreen fabric can provide.
- Sunscreen Blinds – Sunscreen or sheer fabrics can block up to 99% of sun glare, while allowing natural light into your room. They provide daytime privacy, while allowing you to see out into the world.
Child Safe Indoor Blinds
Combining indoor blind functionality & safety
At Scorpio, child safety is important to us, so we offer a variety of solutions to ensure every home and family is safe from hazardous, loose hanging cords or chains.
The current requirements set by the ACCC dictate that the cord of an internal window covering must never form a loop of 220mm or more, never dangle less than 1.6 metres above floor level and must always be secured by a tensioner or holster. Our range of products offer an innovative suite of child safe solutions that easily comply with these regulations without compromising functionality or design of window furnishings.
What’s New in Roller Blinds Gold Coast
The latest in Roller Blind technology is using iPhone and Android apps to control your blinds remotely. Ask our staff for more information about these exciting technologies.
A stylish addition to your roller blinds
Pelmets were once considered old-fashioned dust collectors, but now the modern options can complement a minimalist décor in your Gold Coast home or office and cover the working components of the blind.
Roller Blind pelmets are the finishing touch to your Roller Blinds. Scorpio can offer a range of modern pelmet options – be they streamlined aluminium in design, or fabric covered aluminium pelmets.
Motorised Roller Blinds
Combining indoor blind functionality & safety
As accredited Automate Motorisation experts, Scorpio can provide all manner of motorisation solutions – whether it is for a single difficult to access window, or a whole home controlled by a building management system.
Ideal for a variety of applications, for both residential and commercial properties, remote controlled blinds allow you to effortlessly control your internal blinds and regulate light and temperature with ease.
The addition of motorisation to your interior blinds lets you raise and lower your blinds based on weather conditions, sunlight and heat all from afar. This automation makes your home less vulnerable to burglars, who will look for unoccupied, easy targets.
Dual Roller Blinds
Block out the light or let it shine in!
By combining two Roller Blinds on a double bracket, these dual-purpose blinds let you individually operate a blockout blind and a lighter translucent blind to improve light control, privacy, and insulation.
Sunscreen fabrics are often used in combination with a blockout fabric for a flexible and affordable window covering solution.
Extra Wide Roller Blinds
Custom Made Gold Coast Indoor Blinds
Scorpio offers commercial grade Roller Blind systems that can be made as wide as 4.5m with either a chain or motorised control. Using components as large a 63mm, we can span large architectural windows that many of our competitors cannot. Wide areas can also be linked together, allowing multiple blinds to raise and lower using a single controller and reducing the gap between each blind.
All of our Roller Blinds are custom made at our Arundel factory to suit your specific requirements. Scorpio does not offer any cheap and nasty pre-packaged or cut down blinds. Instead, we produce each blind to exactly fit the dimensions and needs of your window.
Scorpio Screens & Blinds was founded in 1980 by Cameron and Glenis Wood, and the company has grown considerably during that time. To this day Cameron and Glenis are still involved in the company along with their sons. So when you do business with Scorpio Screens & Blinds – you do business with a 2 generation family business. We pride ourselves on the local community and local businesses.
It is by far the best experience I have had with a company where faults have occurred. I will recommend scorpio to friends and family for the great experience I have had with them and consider purchasing more products from them in the near future.
Frequently Asked Questions About our Gold Coast Roller Blinds
Are Roller Blinds good for insulation?
Why use Roller Blinds?
Roller Blinds sit closely against the window and they look neat and streamlined. They completely roll away when not in use and you can choose a neat pelmet for your blind to sit behind when not in use. Roller blinds are flexible.
What fabric is best for Roller Blinds?
Considering the climate where you live, is probably the most important thing to think about first when it comes to choosing fabric for your blinds.
Function is also an important aspect of choosing the right fabric. Darker fabrics are efficient for reducing glare but tend to absorb more heat compared with lighter fabrics. Lighter fabrics reflect more light and repel the heat. In Queensland, this may be the most important factor when choosing your fabric colour or style.
An important aspect to include throughout your decision-making process for the fabric and/or style of your blinds should be your own personal styles.
